"Tasty food, good quality and service."
"Had appetizers for dinner: chorizo with cheese, garlic yucca, and shrimp tacos."
"If you r looking to eat food from the area, and exotic dishes, here it is."
5 Incredible food on a beautiful patio on the nicest and greenest street in Palenque. Don’t miss this place! Manuel took great care of us and knew the menu extremely well. His recommendations were really exquisite. I got the vegetarian enchiladas with both green and red sauce with Chaya and Chapay, both very regional dishes. My partner ordered the Pollo Chaya and loved it as well. They let us try the mole which was fantastic as well. Very impressed with the food. He wasn’t busy (we arrived after 9pm on a Sunday), so he took time talking to us a lot about the regional food and the best places to explore on our short trip to Palenque. I’ll be back.
5 This has been one of the best restaurants for authentic Mexican food that I have tried. You will not be disappointed they have very unique plates. Including meats like rabbits, deer, and crocodile.
5 Good restaurant serving local dishes from Chiapas 17.509667° -91.988318° This top TripAdvisor restaurant is part of Hotel Sevilla Palenque and offers a pleasant and authentic dining experience in a traditional setting with lush surroundings, enhanced by Cuban live music. In December 2024, as Palenque is cattle raising area with good beef, we ordered oven-baked cochito of slow oven-cooked pork marinated in adobo broth (or sauce) consisting of paprika, oregano, salt, garlic and vinegar and wrapped in banana leaves in December 2024 (Mex$345). The cochito was delicious, well prepared and representative of local cuisine. Service was attentiveness and professional. Restaurante Maya Cañada offers a charming ambiance, tasty local dishes and live entertainment. Highly recommended.
5 We had an amazing two meals here (breakfast and dinner - it was that good!! However it is expensive just FYI (about what we’d pay for dinner in London!!). Breakfast was reasonable and they’re open early so we went before our tour. For dinner we had a cocktail each and a main dish each and it was over 2000peso. However it was yummy and the service is great. Try the guanabana margarita. The fish was delicious and you can Choose 2 sides with it. The rabbit was also really nice! Highly recommend just be wary of the $$ (fish is especially expensive)
4 I had a nice meal (two tamales). But, automatically adding a 10% tip to my bill is unacceptable. A tip is optional and a gift. Please stop asking for a gift. Normally I am a great tipper. I love to give tips for good service. But when it's added to my bill I won't be tipping.
5 The BEST restaurant in Palenque!! The food was authentic to the Chiapas region. I tried many new things like chapay (vegetable that looks and tastes like vegan mince), Chaya (bitter spinach), plantains (banana but sweeter and fried), and crocodile. The food was absolutely delicious so we came here twice. There are lots of choices on the menu and plenty of vegetarian options too. The portions were good and the staff were friendly and hospitable. The seating is outdoor but covered by a roof. The atmosphere is great and they had live music. Service is quick. For dessert we had stewed pumpkin in molasses and cinnamon. We also tried the local delicacy of pan de elote ( sweetcorn cake) which was amazing and I recommend you try it! I would love to come back here
5 I was ill so very pleased to find a chicken broth on the menu. It was so good. The service was superb. The bread was fresh and served with garlic butter, spiced guacamole and pico de gallo. Plus the soup came with a full basket of delicious tortillas. I couldn’t eat it all and it wasn’t expensive at all. I felt so taken care of.
5 Great steak done to perfection as ordered. Tender vegetables and baked potato were great. My partner order pork, salad and vegetables. Said it was also perfect with spices. Great service, waiter spoke a little English . It was very hot out and they turned the fan by the table on which was a great plus. Many restaurants don't have fans. Restraunt was not busy. reasonably priced. Good quality. Cleanliness-perfect Negative remarks. Can't find one.
